My name is Elaine. This trip marks a lot of first’s for me.

First time solo traveling (nothing like throwing myself in at the deep end, going to the furthest point from home and for 6 weeks, what was I thinking of?)

First time in Australia. Something that other people do, something that was just a dream.

First time travelling in business class.

First time not working for 6 weeks.

First time away from all my loved ones.

First time doing something for just me.

I have always been a home bird and whilst I have been fortunate to have many lovely holidays and trips this is taking me hugely out of my comfort zone.

Why am I doing this?……..well as everything in life there are always events that trigger you doing things and I have an impulsive side to my nature that rears it’s head especially when emotionally charged, this was one of them oops!

Since I have booked it the trailfinders app that counts you down to your trip that most people use to look forward to is actually giving me anxiety 🤦🏼‍♀️. That is not a dig at Trailfinders they have been amazing and most people (normal people) would love it.

I am a daughter, a sister, a niece, a mother, a Nana (another first for me) and friend. Oh yes………if you don’t know me you are probably wondering, a currently retired wife (that sounds better doesn’t it!)

I have always worked and swore I would retire at 55 and am lucky enough to be able to, I just don’t know how to yet, I’ve just fallen back into really liking what I do again so will continue to do so until I don’t.

I am a golfer, go to the gym, love to cook and watch anything cookery related.
